Theme A: Photoactive Molecules for Sensors, Displays, and Imaging
This theme encompasses a diverse range of systems, molecules, and molecular materials with optical, physicochemical, or reactive properties that can be harnessed to design sensors and transducers dedicated to environmental monitoring, heritage preservation, forensics, and healthcare. It also applies to the development of molecular systems for displays, such as OLEDs, as well as imaging devices tailored for microscopy or medical applications.
Research initiatives in this area leverages on the expertise accumulated at PPSM in recent years in the design, synthesis, and study of organic or organometallic molecules with photophysical activities suited for sensors, displays, and imaging to explore application domains, including photodepollution, photocatalysis, carbon dioxide sequestration, artwork analysis, and quality control in the agri-food industry.
