Bachelor/Master internships and PhD project

Photogeneration of organic catalysts for the controlled polymerization of biosourced monomers

Supervisor Dr. Nicolas Bogliotti

Research internships at the Bachelor and Master level are proposed for the year 2023-2024, as well as a PhD project for the period 2024-2026.

The aim of this research project is to prepare and study the photochemical and photophysical properties of new photocaged organocatalysts - i.e. organic molecules whose catalytic activity can be triggered on demand in response to illumination - designed to be active in polymerization reactions of biosourced monomers.
The molecules developed as part of this project will be used to graft various types of polymers onto the surface of materials, the topography of which can be finely controlled using light. The objects thus prepared could prove to be excellent candidates for applications in the biomedical field.

This interface project based on organic synthesis, involving collaborations both inside and outside the PPSM, will address a variety of fields such as photophysics, molecular modelling, analytical chemistry, materials science and optics.
