Research and teaching department (DER)
The chemistry Research and teaching department (DER) of École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay offers to its students a high level formation, both theoretical and experimental, in a strong relationship with Université Paris-Saclay and École Polytechnique. Its vocation is to prepare the students for teaching and research professions in all chemistry fields and at the inferfaces of physics and biology, to work in academia or in companies. For more details about the chemistry DER formation, please consult its website.
PPSM and the chemistry DER relation
The chemistry DER is composed of PPSM laboratory and a teaching part. Its director Fabien Miomandre is supported by an assistant director in charge of the laboratory Isabelle Leray and by an assistant director in charge of the teaching Cécile Dumas, but also by an assistant director in charge of the budget Laure-Lise Chappelet and teching - research mission manager Jonathan Piard.
Several PPSM members are involved in the teaching part of the chemistry DER (see below). They are supported in their activities by a technical team composed of Clément Dore, Sandrine Martin and Pushpa Mourougayane.
Immersion in the laboratory
First year chemistry DER students carry out a one year immersion in PPSM laboratory: they are associated to a research project and are actively involved in one day a week, or more if their schedule allows it. This is an excellent opportunity for them to discover research through experiences, meetings and laboratory life.
