Abstract
During the 20th century, many philosophers of science questioned the objective foundations of science, given that scientific protocols claim to be impervious to all types of internal or external subjective influences. As a result, many researchers at the time suggested that scientific practice should no longer be viewed as a purely pragmatic practice, but rather as a discipline that acknowledges socio-epistemic values linked to institutions and groups, as described in particular by sociology and the sociology of science. This observation then raised a number of underlying issues, which are still being studied by researchers today: how can scientific knowledge be cohesive if it is filled with non-scientific subjective considerations and values? How, then, can we trust research results, both among peers and for the general public? What, then, is the importance of intra- or extra-scientific science? How and why can we communicate better?
