Victor Gonzalez has been awarded the Young Researcher Award 2024 by the Physical Chemistry Division of the Société Chimique de France (SCF). This prize is awarded to researchers, lecturers and research fellows aged no more than 40 in the year in which they apply.
His work focuses on the chemistry of ancient composite systems (inorganic pigment(s) + organic binder(s)), and more specifically on the alteration mechanisms active in historic pictorial formulations. These studies are carried out using multi-scale chemical imaging methods, in particular those based on synchrotron radiation.
