Vitor Belo, a PhD student at the University of São Paulo (USP), who is embarked on an international joint PhD programme with Université Paris-Saclay, has been awarded the prestigious France Excellence Eiffel scholarship. He will be based at the PPSM for at least one year to study the processes by which life emerges, as revealed by traces of extraterrestrial matter.
His research is co-directed by Professor Douglas Galante at USP with and Loïc Bertrand at the PPSM, and co-supervised by Julien Randon-Furling at the Centre Borelli of mathematics.
